100NotOut
As we move through our 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s we need to navigate around the most common reasons for visiting hospitals, particularly those problems which can wreck an adventurous and happy retirement. We use our diagnostics and 'body-management' teams through the year to tune up your body and to put you in control of your super-metrics. These are your key body metrics and they shape the personalised changes you can make which will hopefully extend your healthy/ capable years and guide you for the rest of your life.
Our team helps you to reverse or slow bone and muscle loss, using simple exercises that improve strength, mobility and longevity. You will master the tools to monitor cardiovascular and metabolic health, reducing risks for cancer, neurodegenerative (where possible) and musculoskeletal issues — putting you more in control of your key health risks.
Our goal is to improve your performance metrics and to increase the likelihood of annual ‘all-clears’ as you age. This reduces your chances of serious disease, illness or frailty disrupting your life.
A good example is Zone 2 aerobic exercise — low-intensity activity that makes you slightly breathless. It boosts mitochondrial health(cell energy, efficiency...) which is vital for older adults. Together with core stability and strength exercises we should help you to reduce the risk of falls and general risks of frailty.... Whether you are 55 or 80, you should stay strong and keep screening for risks, so you extend your healthy and happy years. It’s never too late to take charge and aim to dance enthusiastically at your grandchildren’s weddings!

Customer story
When we designed 100notout, we created a service around a fictional character named Rita. As you read, see if any of Rita’s issues or opportunities resonate with you.
Rita is 68 years old. She and her husband retired five years ago and are enjoying their "golden years" - going on some grand adventures and visiting family..... Although she is relatively fit and stays active with golf and line-dancing, Rita has had a few minor health scares and sometimes feels her age. She even notices a few new issues like getting down the stairs first thing in the morning in an elegant way . She’s aware of the health challenges faced by friends—such as diabetes, heart disease, and dementia—and she knows that early detection can make a huge difference. Yet, she has a fatalistic mindset, thinking these conditions are inevitable and that there’s little she can do.
What Rita doesn’t realise is how far health screenings and diagnostics have come. It is not too late, no matter your age, to screen for life-changing conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and metabolic diseases. By signing up for 100notout’s screening and risk-management services, Rita can get ahead of potential health issues and look to extend her ability to stay active and independent for many years. Rita would benefit from the peace of mind that comes with annual check-ups and knowing her risks. Early-stage treatments for common cancers, for example, can improve outcomes significantly, yet many people still don’t regularly screen for them.
Similarly, Rita doesn’t know that cardiovascular disease often has no warning signs until a heart attack strikes. Over 60% of people have their first heart attack without prior symptoms. But with proactive screening and lifestyle changes, Rita can stay ahead of these risks.
Rita also hasn’t heard of zone 2 exercise, a low-intensity workout that could improve her health and help her live a longer, healthier life. Zone 2 exercise, which is surprisingly easy to incorporate, promotes the creation of new mitochondria, crucial for energy production, and helps maintain cognitive health. For older adults, this kind of regular exercise is vital.
As we age, muscle strength, stability, and flexibility become more important to prevent falls. One-third of people over 65 who fall and break a hip die within a year, so improving balance and strength is crucial. If Rita were to suffer a fall or injury she could lose significant muscle mass in just ten days. This can lead to a downward spiral of frailty and reduced quality of life. Training with weights and focusing on eccentric strength can help prevent falls and maintain stability.
Rita also doesn’t realise the importance of monitoring her glucose levels and how different foods impact her metabolic health. By using simple wearable technologies she could gain valuable insights into how different foods affect her glucose levels and long-term health, giving her the ability to make more informed decisions about her diet and weight management.
Even someone in their 70s or 80s can take steps to remain capable, stable, and well-screened against health risks. By addressing metabolic and muscle health, as well as tracking heart disease and other risk factors, Rita could add years to her healthspan.
Rita is motivated to stay in control of her health. By using 100notout she aims to ensure she stays strong, healthy, and active—ready to dance we hope at her granddaughter’s wedding in 23 years.
