A targeted programme to help you achieve a healthy weight and a body which performs better, in a way which will be enduring and sustainable. Gain insight into your metabolic health, cardiovascular health, muscle mass & bone density - and how to build strength and overall health as you lose weight.

If your chosen solutions involve rapid weight loss, via an appetite suppressant and metabolic booster, we ensure you can do this with support from our medical team - monitoring for side-effects from the medicine and helping you to strengthen your body as the weight drops off.

Over the year, we’ll track your weight, visceral fat, muscle mass, bone density, glucose levels and cardiovascular health/risks. You will also develop sustainable, personalised and realistic changes to how you eat , as you learn how different foods and drink affect your body in ways which are unique to you.

While rapid weight loss is attractive to many it is vital that you also strengthen your body, to avoid a range of issues as the weight drops off. If using appetite suppressants/ metabolic modulators, our medical team ensures safe use, tracks progress/issues and supports the achievement of your broader health and performance goals.

Say goodbye to fad diets with a tailored plan that combines foods you like to eat and eating patterns, which should also boost health and your key body metrics. Addressing insulin resistance and the wider metabolic syndrome is crucial, for example, as these conditions increase risks for cancer, Alzheimer’s, and heart disease. If these conditions affect you then addressing them unlocks 'metabolic flexibility' which is vital for healthy weight and metabolism, helping your body burn both fat and glucose effectively( not just burning glucose and demanding more glucose).

With our expert guidance and only proven science, you can make lasting changes for the prospect of a healthier and more vibrant future.

What's included?

Appointment Booking and Initial Preparation

Choose an appointment on Calthorpe Road in Edgbaston (via phone or online booking).
Provide background details about your lifestyle, health, family history etc. prior to the appointment.

You will spend an hour with one of our doctors to:

  • Discuss your personal goals and priorities for the programme
  • start to understand the hard science behind how you can track and manage your body .
  • Develop an outline plan together to address these priorities.
  • Undergo a targeted physical/medical check-up (covering 10 key elements).
  • Establish some initial baselines, linked to key risks and goals( including some blood tests).
  • We take a first look at your body composition and muscle/fat distribution
  • Receive a glucose monitoring kit to track relative impacts of key foods over the next two weeks.
  • You can choose to pick up some important self-testing/monitoring kit

You will spend an hour with one of our Fitness/performance specialists to create some powerful baselines for future tracking and improvement. We will test:

  • A measure of how much oxygen your body is using at higher levels of effort
  • Strength measures which are analogous to body age
  • Your core strength/stability and balance
  • Your muscular endurance
  • Measures of your muscle strength and also muscular power
  • Your flexibility
  • Your reaction time

We think that you will enjoy the session, whatever your current fitness level.  We will also make sure that what we learn about your body from these tests can then feed into the wider set of body insights we are getting from the bloods, body composition feedbacks, CGM and other diagnostics.

You will not get your scores immediately. These measures and insights need to be woven together with the other important pieces of the Super-metrics' jigsaw that we are assembling, so we can discuss the broader picture with you at the next consultation. We will then tailor the intensive exercise phase to what we learn and agree together, as well as tailoring changes in eating habits and other action areas

  • Review blood and first physical results with your Healthyat100 doctor, along with their implications and recommended actions.
  • Discuss your glucose monitoring insights, metabolic health issues, and dietary consequences or necessary changes.
  • Review your body composition (muscle and fat levels), establishing baselines and identifying potential risk or improvement areas.
  • Discuss specialised pharmacy or protective drug options and needs, including a review of your current medications with our specialist pharmacist( where appropriate). We will also discuss whether an appetite suppressant might be useful to help kick-start more rapid weight loss, coupled with monitoring to check for side effects. Steps would also be taken to ensure muscle mass, strength, and stability are built up in tandem with any rapid weight loss.
  • Agree on specialist Zone 2, stability, strength, and cardio sessions for the next stage of rapid improvement.
  • Schedule a session with one of our 'body performance' specialists to measure your baseline strength, stability, and body age/longevity metrics.
  • Over the following two months, you will have carefully targeted weekly exercise sessions with our performance/fitness partners to begin improving your priority metrics.
  • Additional (optional) sessions will be available in other potential support or improvement areas, as agreed with you based on your concerns and priorities (e.g. nutrition, sleep, psych....).
  • Other important diagnostics or scans may be offered during this time (e.g. deeper insights into how you score on cardiovascular health, alcohol impact for regular drinkers, metabolic health, weight management....).
  • Other elements of self-testing and tracking may be introduced, using tools we can provide.
  • Follow-up metric testing will be conducted after this intensive two-month period with one of our 'body performance' specialists, in preparation for the ‘Progress’ consultation. We are looking for good news
  • Review progress on targeted super-metrics and weight management/goal areas.
  • Retest key physical and performance/risk-related metrics to highlight improvements and gaps. Assess the impact of previous actions and plan next-stage actions.
  • Review any other scan or diagnostic results, along with the health context and science behind them (e.g. metabolic health, cardiovascular health, alcohol impact, cancer risks .......).
  • Discuss further plans and support for eating habits/choices, exercise, and a further medication review. Consider other advanced diagnostics and appetite/metabolic aids that may be beneficial.
  • Identify additional support needed to ensure continued progress and broader weight control, risk management, and potential longevity gains( options for psych, nutritional or sleep support)
  • We can also offer a genetic screen which will give you insights into how you are wired. These can be related to a range of disease risks or natural protections you may be biased towards, as well as specific insight into eating habits and dispositions potentially impacted by your genetics. These insights can be very powerful and useful

Two additional face-to-face consultations during the year with your Healthyat100 doctor and performance specialists, to:

  • Carry out a follow-up physical check-up and body composition assessment, ensuring hands-on tracking and essential safety checks.
  • Provide personalised support to address any issues or concerns regarding your improvement plan and care.
  • Review progress and discuss potential adjustments to your body-tracking, targeted medications, genetic advantages and risk profiles, exercise plans, nutrition changes, and psychological support if needed.
  • Offer interpretation and educational insights into how your body works and the science behind the programme. In addition to helping you achieve your weight goals, we will also aim to improve your prospects in terms of cardiovascular health, metabolic health, and cancer risks( as agreed with or prioritised by you).
  • Provide the option to engage with our private GP service, if needed or appropriate, to handle episodic medical issues or primary chronic conditions.

Throughout this year, you will take ownership of and track your chosen 20 to 25 super-metrics and your prospects for extending your healthy, happy years. Our extended team of experts will be with you every step of the way, helping you achieve your short-term weight management objectives and your longer-term goals. We will work throughout the year to ensure you understand as much of the hard science as you wish, so that you become increasingly informed and equipped to continue ‘managing your body' and your health prospects in the future.

Customer story

When we designed Healthyweight100 we designed the service around a fictional character called Marianne. When you read this try to see if any of our fictional Marianne’s issues and opportunities might apply to you.

Marianne, aged 44, has a demanding job in a logistics firm and struggles to balance work, family life, and her love for hiking with her partner and kids around the UK. Since her early thirties, after having her second child and stepping up at work, she has struggled with her weight. She really has no time to exercise, cook from scratch, or care for herself properly. She has tried joining a gym several times but has never managed to stick with it. Over the years, she has also experimented with many fad diets and has almost lost hope of reaching her target weight. Now, she’s uncertain about what to believe or what she should be eating. She has heard about new weight-loss wonder drugs but she has no idea which reports to believe or who to trust.

Through Healthyweight100, Marianne hopes to find clarity, especially by using tools like CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring). With CGM she can track the impact of different food choices on her sugar levels, fat management, and energy-burning – all with real science applied to her unique body( all our different bodies can react in different ways to bread, pasta, ice cream, a glass of wine......)

She’s open to personalised nutrition that is based on evidence, rather than untrustworthy sources.

Marianne has heard about appetite drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro and is intrigued by how quickly they can reduce body weight. However, she’s unsure about the injections, potential side-effects, and whether they offer a lasting solution. She’d like to discuss these options with HW100 doctors to determine if they could be a sensible part of her weight loss plan, with the proper medical supervision to ensure safety. She has also heard that rapid weight loss can impact muscle mass, bone density, and other health factors, so she knows she will need help to strengthen her body as the weight comes off.

Another area of concern is insulin resistance and metabolic health. Marianne doesn’t realise that insulin resistance significantly increases the risk of serious conditions: 12 times more likely to develop cancer, 5 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s, and 6 times more likely to develop cardiovascular issues. The key to overcoming insulin resistance is achieving metabolic flexibility – the ability to burn both fat and glucose for energy. Without this 'flexibility' your body can become stuck in the “fat trap” of metabolic syndrome. Understanding this basic biology is essential for Marianne to improve and maintain her health.

Marianne also has not been introduced to the power of zone 2 exercise. She will be surprised to learn that, as she becomes leaner, zone 2 exercise will feel just as manageable as it does at the start of her Healthyat100 programme. The belief that high-intensity training and tough workouts are necessary or vital is a misconception; well-chosen zone 2 exercise, coupled with some weight training and balance work, will support both gradual and rapid weight loss goals.

Marianne wants to keep hiking with her kids, staying fit for her demanding job and maintain her interests and aspirations for years to come. She does not have the luxury of a private chef or a personal assistant, but she does want simple, practical solutions that fit into her life. With Healthyat100, she hopes to lose weight, stay healthy, and become stronger and fitter for her busy life and the active future she craves.
